1. The service
CEI One is an independent app for reading data available on Romanian electronic identity cards, preparing PDFs, scanning documents, electronic signing, and verifying compatible signatures. CEI One is not an official government application.
2. Eligibility and device
You are responsible for using a valid eID you are entitled to use, a compatible iPhone, and a supported iOS version. Some functions require network access and available external services.
3. Protecting access codes
CAN and PINs are confidential. Do not disclose them or allow another person to use your card or device on your behalf. You are responsible for the operations you authorize.
4. Electronic signing
The app can create cryptographic signatures using the certificate and private key on your eID. You choose the document and visible mark position and authorize the operation. You must review the document and decide whether the signature type and certificate are appropriate for your purpose.
5. Signature verification
Verification results reflect data in the document, responses from trust services, and the capabilities of the current release. A technical result is not legal advice and does not guarantee acceptance by a particular institution.
6. Documents and content
You retain ownership of your documents and are responsible for their legality, accuracy, and distribution. Do not use the app for fraud, unauthorized access, infringement, or other unlawful activity.
7. iCloud and external services
iCloud sync, timestamps, and OCSP/CRL checking depend on Apple and providers referenced by certificates. Their availability, speed, and responses are not fully controlled by CEI One.
8. Availability and updates
We may change, suspend, or update features for security, compatibility, and compliance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation across every device, iOS release, or third-party document.
9. Intellectual property
The app, website, CEI One identity, code, graphics, and documentation are protected by applicable law. You receive a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable license under the App Store rules.
10. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, CEI One is provided without additional warranties beyond mandatory legal rights. We are not responsible for losses caused by incorrect codes, unreviewed documents, unavailable external services, unauthorized use, or failure to follow instructions.
11. Governing law and contact
